Head of Algo Trading

On behalf of our client we are looking for a candidate for position “Head of Algo Trading” with a place of work in Prague.

Our client is one of the largest energy production companies in the Europe.

Company has its own trading department focused on trading electricity and other energy commodities (crude oil, natural gas, …) at the commodity exchanges. Nowadays trading department is focused on discretionary trading. Our client decided to expand its trading activities also to apply algorithmic trading and set up “Algo trading department”.

This decision creates very rare and interesting opportunity for algo trading experienced professionals who want to make a career move and participate on creating “Algo Trading Department” for one of the leaders of energy sector in Europe.

This position is a unique opportunity in Prague and also in CEE region. The main purpose of this position is to set up algorithmic trading in the company, which includes following activities:
- create and lead small algo trading team (2 – 3 people),
- establish “algo trading department” from scratch
- design, test and run trading algorithms
- cooperation with analysts and traders to identify trading opportunities and then test the ideas.

Head of Algo Trading has autonomy and decision-making competence in managing his team and whole algorithmic trading.

Our client will provide to the successful candidate all necessary support and resources to develop and implement algorithmic trading (technology equipment, analyst support, programmers support,).
